
Simone Thomas-Rowe is a visionary filmmaker and 1st Assistant Director, and a Loyola Marymount University alumna, whose work delves into the emotional terrain of identity, mental health, the body, social justice, and imagination.
A 10-time film festival award winner, Thomas-Rowe’s work has garnered significant recognition across the industry. In 2026, she became the youngest director to have a film screened at the American Black Film Festival, marking a major milestone in her rapidly rising career. Her work has also been shortlisted by the Directors Guild of America for the prestigious Student Spotlight Awards and she has received on-stage recognition at the 2022 inaugural Children and Family Emmy Awards.
